Dear Friends and Supporters,

West Columbia Gorge Humane Society’s services and support for pets and people in our community are in demand now more than ever. Because of the COVID-19 health crisis, individuals and families across all demographics are impacted financially and facing challenges such as job loss, food insecurity and unstable housing.

As an essential service provider, we are working around the clock to meet the evolving needs of our community members. This is uncharted territory for us, but we are here to help no matter what it takes. We are preparing for the increased demand for our services and planning accordingly. Our team is ramping up our capacity to provide resources for the duration.

But, we can’t do this without your help! Your donations, at every level, will help ensure the health and security of pets and people in our community.

During this time of hardship, it is critical we come together to support those impacted by COVID-19. Our goal is to raise $25,000 by April 30th.

To help us keep pets & people together, please make a donation or become a fundraiser by texting 2020COVID19 to 71777 or by clicking on the “I Want to Help!” button below.

As of March 14th, we will not be accepting any non-emergency pet surrenders until announced otherwise.
Please see the Surrender Your Pet Page for more information.

Ways To Get Involved

West Columbia Gorge Humane Society is an organization which runs mainly through the efforts of volunteers — people who give their time to support and carry out our mission. Individuals and families willing to give a few hours will find that their skills and talents make a huge difference.

Help us save lives by providing a temporary, loving and restful retreat for animals in need. We provide all of the supplies, food and medical attention, so there is no cost to you as a foster parent… all you provide is love! When an animal needs some time to recover from a sickness or injury – or just needs to be socialized – we depend on our network of foster homes.

Adopt a Pet

WCGHS works hard to find homes for every pet.
Our adoption counselors will work with you to make sure you and your new pet are the right fit.

Make a Donation

As an independent non-profit organization, West Columbia Gorge Humane Society relies on donations from animal lovers like you to continue our lifesaving, no-kill mission. Every dollar helps save lives.

What Drives Us

Our Mission

West Columbia Gorge Humane Society aims to eliminate unnecessary euthanasia of healthy or treatable companion animals in the community and find them permanent, loving homes.

The members of the Humane Southwest Network, who provide animal welfare services throughout Southwest Washington, have come together to form a partnership dedicated to raising the standard of care for animals in our region. By working together collaboratively, our organizations run more efficiently; our missions have greater collective impact; and we serve as better, stronger advocates for animals and their families.

Together, we are committed to:

  • Ensuring the Health and Wellbeing of Animals
  • Providing Quality Shelter Veterinary Services
  • Offering Assistance in the Event of an Emergency
  • Helping Pets and Their People Stay Together
