This Spring there are many ways that you can make a difference for pets in need in our community. At WCGHS, our mission is to save the lives of pets and provide resources that keep pets and their people together. Our vision is for all pets to live healthy lives, in loving homes.
Help Us Reach Our Spring Fundraising Goal:
How long have you supported WCGHS?
I think we came on board as volunteers in June 2017, shortly after we got Casey, our rescue GSD who gave us permission to start fostering all of the puppies in need.
Tell us 2 fun facts about your pet:
Two things about our dogs…they keep us a little bit off-kilter crazy and a lot of sane at the same time. I am disabled and sitting at home can be really draining on you mentally. Caring for foster puppies is the greatest gift and, if our dogs weren’t okay with it, it isn’t something that we could do. We have four of our own wild personalities and Mel’s mom lives with us with her own little furry personality machine, too. There is a lot of dog energy at any given time in this house and I don’t have a lot of time to think about my body's frailties when we have puppies-in-residence. That’s a win-win for us all.
What do you love about WCGHS?
I love the friends we have made with WCGHS. People that not only share our love of all-things-dog, but people we truly enjoy as human beings. People that, even without all of this, we would still choose to be friends with them. Just really good, kind, funny people with amazing hearts and a fantastic sense of humor!
