Pet Surrender

Due to changing circumstances in a family or individual’s life, pet owners may be faced with the difficult decision to re-home their pet. At WCGHS, we are here to help! Due to limited kennel space in our shelter, surrenders are taken by appointment only, and only if space is available. Please do not bring a pet to the shelter that has not been pre-approved.

If you would like to help donate to offset the costs for others to surrender their pets, we have established the Surrender Assistance Fund.

How to Surrender a Pet

We have a simple two step surrender application process.

  1. Fill out a Surrender Questionnaire.
  2. Schedule an in-person interview with you and your pet.

If approved, and space is available, we will take your pet. If space is not available, your pet will be placed on a waiting list.

A $50 surrender fee is applicable per animal. A $100 surrender fee is applicable for kitten/puppy litters with or without the mother.

These fees help us provide care, shelter, and food for your pet while he or she is in our care.
