Mission in Motion
Spring 2021 Quarterly NewsletterThe Cats are on the Move!
Yes, that’s right, we are moving our cats temporarily! Due to the age and structural condition of our current Cat Shelter building, we have decided it is time to invest in a new structure to house our precious felines. The plan is to move the cats temporarily to the WellHaven clinic on Mill Plain. WellHaven currently has two doggy day care rooms that are not being used. Because of our partnership, they have generously offered to let us take over the space while we build a new cat shelter. We couldn’t have asked for a better solution! Details to come regarding the move, the timeline for new construction and the launching of our capital campaign to help fund this project.

Introducing the BFF Monthly Donor Program
When you sign up to become a monthly donor to WCGHS, you will become a Best Friend Forever (BFF) to dogs and cats in need.
When you become a WCGHS BFF, you join a group of dedicated supporters who understand the importance of making a sustaining commitment to building a more compassionate and socially conscious animal community.
As a monthly donor, you provide reliable financial support that helps us to take a planned, long-term approach to developing and maintaining life-saving programs and services that will have long term impact in our community.
BFFs play an important role in the lives of animals in need. Therefore, when you sign up, you will receive a small gift as a token of our appreciation. Even better, every February one of the pets in our care will “Show the Love” by sending you a very special Valentine thank you!
And it gets better…BFF’s will also receive early admission privileges to our annual Donor Appreciation Event, a free registration for “Hike on the Dike, and early admission to the in-person “A Tail to Remember” Auction event with their ATTR ticket purchase.
Do great things for the animals, get great perks, and feel amazing that you are making a difference. Sign up to be a BFF today!
Dick Hannah Delivers
On February 9th, Dick Hannah Dealerships delivered on their promise to provide WCGHS with a transport van. The donated Nissan van will give WCGHS the ability to safely transport our animals to and from surgeries and events, as well as, allow us to save more lives by pulling animals from overburdened shelters throughout our area and beyond. Pictured here, the van design was provided by long-time volunteer and graphic designer, Sean Savageau, and the wrap was done and donated by Dick Hannah. We are so grateful that Dick Hannah stepped up to be our transport partner and helped us make this dream come true! #believeinnice

Donate Your Change to Make a Change
As you go about your daily business in Camas and Washougal, keep an eye out for our new coin collection jars with our JAR Fund logo on them. You will see them at some of your favorite restaurants, shops and participating businesses.
The JAR Fund is the name given to our newly created emergency medical fund. It is named in memory of John and Ann Ruscigno, who were generous WCGHS adopters and donors who loved animals. Upon their death, they provided a generous gift which served as seed money for this much needed program. The emergency medical fund will assist low-income families and those facing financial hardship with the cost of providing urgent veterinary care for their pet. It is our way of helping pets and their people stay together!
Please share this information with anyone you know that might benefit from this fund or be interested in hosting a JAR Fund jar at their business. If you have a large amount of coins to donate, call us and we’ll make arrangements to accept the donation at the shelter.
